Modern Managemet of Hip Fractures
May 10 2010
Monday 10th May 2010
Venue: Royal College of Surgeons, London
A hip fracture remains the commonest condition to cause an acute orthopaedic admission. With an increasingly elderly population the numbers of hip fractures continues to increase. It therefore falls within the remit of the orthopaedic surgeon to minimise the
consequences of this injury and assist in a speedy return of the patient back home.
This meeting will concentrate on those aspects of treatment specifically relevant to the orthopaedic surgeon. Firstly when to operate and what should be done to get the patient ready for theatre. In addition key aspects of peri-operative care will be discussed.
